The Ugly Weed

photo 5(3)There is an ugly weed in my vegetable garden, and it’s pushing out all of my vegetables.  It isn’t beautiful, and it doesn’t produce flowers or vegetables.  It’s covered with prickly thorns.  Good luck pulling it out!  It grows fast and strong, and in its hardiness it has overtaken the garden.

This weed does not seem to worry about its worthiness.  It doesn’t care that it is not as colorful or edible along the food chain as others.  Being alive makes it worthy of garnering nutrients to support its growth.  It is just as deserving as more beautiful and productive plants.

This what I learned from nature today.  Just being alive is enough.  It is sacred, important, valuable, divinely inspired and protected.  Every living creature is an integral part of the whole.

Just being alive is enough.
