My New Job!

IMG_8726-2Congratulate me!  I have a new job!  I found out this morning that I got the job (although no one else applied).  It is a position that I am lucky to have even though I failed many times over the years, which I blame on poor management.  Appointed by the CEO of the organization, I have access to information collecting dust in private vaults but now opening up for this task.  My new job and challenge is: “Not Trying to Accomplish Anything.”  It is part-time now, but I am hoping to move into a full-time position after more practice.

It might sound easy, but there is a lot of preparation for this work.  You have to eat healthy foods, exercise, put away your watch, get plenty of sleep, and mostly be able to resist the immense temptation of the computer and other devices sent to throw you off course.  “Ninja Not Accomplishing Tasks” is the mindset.  Fighting distractions around every corner, silencing the worthiness factor, surviving accomplishment envy.  I hear that Linkedin is creating a new category for this work.  We may even get to compete in the Olympics, but then again, that would be accomplishing something.

I love it! You know I’m trying to do the same. We work for such great companies!

Very Buddha, Ellie! Think of all the beautiful “being” moments you can enjoy, not having to
focus on “doing”. Too many of our interactions (all of them?) center around Doing. We’ve lost the art of being with others or with ourselves without setting schedules, timetables and agendas. To simply Be and not be compelled to Do shows that we are satisfied, that we have enough, that we are enough. Wow! If I still have a goal, it is to create more and more of those moments in my own life. Bless you!

Technically, aren’t you accomplishing something by successfully not accomplishing anything? Hehe:).

Wonderful. I am trying to get comfortable enough to apply for a job at your company. This came at such a perfect time.
