Here’s a snippet called “My Safe Haven” from my upcoming book:
I have been looking for a place in my home that is mine…a sanctuary, a special place that smells and tastes like me, only me. A place where I can be free to think and explore, experiment, make mistakes and grow into someone new.
I now realize that the emotional and spiritual safe haven where I feel free is not a physical space, but a spiritually awakened place. It is where I take responsibility for myself and the choices that I have made. It is the home for me as an adult with an open ear toward my little girl’s voice. It is a loving, forgiving place where both of us are wanted and welcomed without judgment, where we are loved and supported, nurtured and appreciated. My safe haven can be anywhere.
Yes! I love this!!
