When my friend and I were hiking last week we took pictures of each other enjoying the warm breeze, turning leaves and sun-sparkled water. She protested at first saying that she didn’t like how she looked in pictures, then acquiesced and allowed me to take them. The next day I sent her the pictures that I took. She remembered how much fun we had, but said that all she saw when she looked at the pictures was a bad bra, fat midriff and unflattering pants. How sad is that, she lamented?
I waited awhile to respond, then I wrote, “How lucky for you that you noticed three things about yourself that you can change.”
You are so wise!!!
At least 2 out of 3 will be easy!!
I had a friend who is no longer with us who always replied when asked “how you doin’ Kevin?” “Well, woke up on the right side of the grass again today.” The photos you shared with your friend serve as a reminder that you both “woke up on the right side of the grass.” Be thankful!!
