Tarot Card Nudging

AfIMG_4673ter a free holiday qigong practice at the new Chi Center nestled in the mountains of Santa Fe followed by a huge pot-luck lunch, my teacher brought out a set of Tarot cards that he got from a friend in Israel.  In an effort to have us get to know each other and build community, he asked each one of us to pick a card and share it if we wanted.  The sayings were very different, but they all seemed to make sense to those who chose them.

Mine went something like this:  “A thousand beings inside of you are putting a finger to their lips and saying, ‘Shhhhhh!’ The ocean is vast and silent.  The river is the language of talking.  When the ocean calls, don’t go to the river.  Go to the ocean.”

Hmmmm…. Do I need to pull back into a more quiet, contemplative state?  Am I being directed to less doing and more just being?  Is silence my teacher for now?  I’m not sure, but I have been aware of that Tarot card reading these past few days when busy-ness has been overly distracting.  I have been rethinking my choices.  Sometimes the most powerful action is non-action.  And as always, the teacher shows up when he student is ready.

Your thoughts?

Love this!! There are times for both rivers and oceans, noise and silence. Follow what feels good at the time. You are so intuned. Love you!!!
