Offering a Different Way

IMG_5691 The day before closing on my house in NY, all kinds of issues came up.  The buyers weren’t sure if the heat turned on fast enough and the creditor thought that there was a neighborhood association that placed restrictions on homeowners.  Both are not true.  My lawyer wasn’t sure if we were going to close the next day.

Feeling frustrated and anxious and that I had exhausted all avenues of reasonable thought, I began to see the situation differently.  Sometimes before making a big purchase, people get afraid and think that they are going to be cheated.  Since one of the universal laws is that fear and love can’t be present at the same time, I began to envision everyone involved in this interaction embraced by love.  I imagined the creditor going home where he was greeted by his kind and loving wife and adorable children.  He had a delicious dinner accompanied by peace and harmony with his family, and then sat by the fire reading a paper with his dog snuggled at his feet.  Fear disintegrated and left his body, and he was enveloped by love coming from within and without.  He effortlessly let his concerns drop away knowing that they didn’t matter.

The next day I asked my lawyer if we were going ahead with closing and he said that he hadn’t heard from anyone.  Four hours later they met and signed the papers in record time.

I don’t know.  Just offering a different way to live life.

Please pass this on if you think it can help someone.
