No Need to Know

photo(47)Needing to have the answer robs us of the opportunity to learn.  When being right is pressing and urgent, we lose the ability to sit back and feel our way to the most beneficial course of action.

Did you ever notice how tight people are who have to override others with the correct answer?  They are like wound up springs whose pent up energy will rebound out of control if they concede to another.  They are missing a precious way to learn.  We can learn so much by listening to another, even if it’s a lesson on what not to do.  And, rather than feeling like two rams butting horns, listening opens us up to offer a more profound and appropriate course of action.

What are your thoughts?
