Feed What You Want to Grow

Everything is in its perfect time, even though it doesn’t always feel like it.

The next time you have a cold and have to cancel your plans, or get stuck in a snowstorm and can’t get to your destination, or are invited to sit in with new people in a business meeting, or twist your ankle and have to sit out a hike take notice.  They could all be chances offered at the perfect time to open you up to new choices – serendipitous opportunities.

My friend was overwhelmed with a move and starting a new business.  She was exhausted but couldn’t allow herself to stop – there was just too much to do.  She strained a muscle in her back doing the most minor movement, took a break until she could stand up somewhat straight, then went back to her activities.  Then, she got the flu – really bad.  She couldn’t move for five days and took another week to replenish her strength.  When she was able to talk she said that she understood the significance of getting so sick.  She finally got the rest that she needed.  It was blessed miserableness and she said that she finally got it.

Nothing happens before its time, but if you are not listening it is possible to miss the very shift that you have been asking for. Conscious timing is everything. Linear timing is nothing. Focused effort and awareness are our tools. Feed what you want to grow, stay awake and have fun watching your creations.

Ellie you are so right! Shattering my knee 4 years ago gave me the time to stop, allow myself to see that I didn’t have to be in charge of keeping my family together. I did a fantastic job in raising them and they showed me their strength to take charge.
Hidden blessing are everywhere. Pay attention to the signs, they are bringing you gifts. And when you keep getting gifts you think you should return, give them a harder look. 🙂 Then give thanks.
