Do You Know the Way to Santa Fe?

photo(18)The saga to Santa Fe continues. I was so excited last night for my flight this morning that I couldn’t sleep. I woke up at 2 am singing in my head “Do You Know the Way to Santa Fe?” My only relief from obsessing over that tune was when I started singing “Oh, Holy Night” (I have no idea why), which was problematic because I don’t even know the words. I hummed the same few measures over and over again until I succumbed to sleep.

Up bright and early (at least early) at 5 am. Breakfast was a plate of whatever was left in the refrigerator. Steamed carrots, sweet potato and a hard boiled egg…a very orange meal for a gray, foggy day. Overstuffed suitcases tossed into the trunk and I was finally on my way to the airport. Yesterday’s false start was behind me and rugged mountains and warm sunshine were ahead of me. My dreamy reverie was interrupted with a text message from the airline announcing my flight cancellation. Are you kidding me?!? Seriously? Back home to the computer along with thousands of other people rescheduling their flights.

I’ll get there when the time is right. Do you know the way to Santa Fe? Patience, patience, patience.

I’m thinking that I couldn’t even dream up this adventure of yours in one of my stories. I love your sense of humor and style, and that is a fabulous and photogenic breakfast. All the best and for me at least, the way to Santa Fe IS through you–for the next weeks!!! :))
