Be Happy Now

IMG_0476“It doesn’t matter if you see the glass as half-empty or half-full because there is a pitcher of water sitting next to it,” says Harvard happiness researcher Shawn Achor.  We can not only fill up our own glasses, but fill the glasses of people around us.   Happiness is a choice and a practice, and it affects your health as much as genes.   His prescription is to add three smiles to your day!

He also says that being successful doesn’t necessarily make you happier, but being happier makes you more successful.  The opposite of happiness is apathy.  And, get this, the ancient Greeks defined happiness as “the joy we feel while striving for our potential.”

Does anyone else find this so inspiring?!?

🙂 🙂 🙂 Starting my day with 3 smiles! The best one to start with is the one in the mirror in the morning!
